Vyrill: User-Generated Video Reviews for Brands

Vyrill: Leveraging Authentic Customer Video Reviews
Vyrill empowers brands to locate and utilize video reviews generated by genuine customers and product users. The company recently showcased its capabilities at TechCrunch Early Stage: Marketing & Fundraising, ultimately triumphing over nine competitors in the pitch competition.
Judges were particularly impressed by Vyrill’s unique methodology and groundbreaking technology focused on the discovery and filtering of pertinent video content.
The Challenge of User-Generated Video Content
A significant hurdle exists for businesses of all sizes. While user-generated content is highly valued due to its perceived authenticity and resulting impact, efficiently locating suitable videos presents a considerable challenge.
Currently, the typical process involves searching by video title and then manually reviewing the entire footage – a method that is often inefficient and time-consuming.
Vyrill's Solution: Video Content Discovery
As Ajay Bam, Vyrill’s CEO, highlighted during his presentation, brands are increasingly relying on everyday individuals for video advertising initiatives.
Rather than traditional, polished marketing videos, companies are frequently licensing and promoting content created by actual product users. However, the difficulty lies in discovery, as existing video platform search tools primarily analyze text within titles and descriptions.
Vyrill asserts it provides the answer. For instance, their technology allows L’Oréal to correlate millions of YouTube videos with its complete product catalog, categorizing each video appropriately.
This capability allows L’Oréal to pinpoint and utilize the most effective user-generated videos for its marketing strategies, and to identify content focused on specific products.
How Vyrill's System Works
Vyrill’s system meticulously analyzes videos, processing the text, audio, and visual elements through a series of filters.
These filters encompass factors like diversity, subject matter relevance, and viewer engagement. Vyrill maintains that this analytical process is central to its success, enabling rapid identification of high-quality videos.
Furthermore, the system facilitates connection with content creators by providing access to their profiles and contact information.
Company Growth and Funding
Ajay Bam announced during the presentation that Vyrill currently serves 40 companies, experiencing month-over-month doubling in platform usage.
Founded in 2015 by Bam and co-founder and CTO Dr. Barbara Rosario, the company secured a $2.1 million pre-seed funding round in 2018.
Vyrill is presently raising a seed round, having already secured $1.2 million in funding.
