DIA Skill Gallery & Perplexity Comet Task Integration

The Evolution of AI-Powered Browser Automation
Despite not yet delivering on the fully automated browsing experience initially envisioned, developers of AI-powered browsers are actively working to streamline user workflows. A key focus is enabling the effortless repetition of frequently used prompts for common tasks.
Dia Browser's Skills Feature
The Browser Company’s Dia browser has already introduced a “skills” feature. This functionality empowers users to instruct the browser to execute commands or generate code snippets through simple prompts.
For example, a user could request the browser to identify upcoming events in their local area. The prompt can then be saved and re-executed quickly using a designated shortcut.
Recognizing the value of community contributions, The Browser Company has officially launched version 0.1 of its skill gallery.
- This gallery provides a curated collection of skills.
- Skills are categorized for easy browsing.
- Users can readily copy prompts to integrate skills into their personal libraries.
Comet Browser's Upcoming Task Automation
Perplexity, the company behind the Comet browser, is also preparing to introduce a comparable feature. Aravind Srinivas, Perplexity’s CEO, recently announced the imminent arrival of pre-built shortcuts.
These shortcuts will facilitate repetitive actions such as tab management, meeting preparation, and tracking trending social media topics.
Furthermore, Comet will allow users to construct custom scripts, akin to Tampermonkey, utilizing natural language prompts. This will broaden the scope of automation for various everyday scenarios.
Comet aims to empower users to define their own automated workflows through intuitive language-based commands.
