X is implementing a substantial price adjustment for its highest subscription level, Premium+, increasing the monthly fee by 37.5% to $22.

This represents the most significant price increase on the platform since its acquisition by Elon Musk in 2022.

Price Changes for U.S. Subscribers

The revised pricing structure will initially be rolled out to users located in the United States.

The monthly cost will rise from $16, with the change taking effect on December 21st, as officially stated by the company.

Furthermore, the annual subscription price is also being adjusted upwards, moving from $168 to $229.

Existing Subscribers and Price Adjustments

X has indicated that these price adjustments are being made to bolster the overall user experience provided by the platform.

Current Premium+ subscribers will maintain their existing rates until January 20th, effectively being grandfathered into the previous pricing scheme.

International Pricing Updates

Similar price increases are planned for various international markets.

For users within the European Union, the monthly cost of Premium+ will increase to €21, up from the previous rate of €16.

Canadian subscribers will experience a rate hike to $29 per month, an increase from the current $20.

Significant Increases in Select Markets

Certain regions will experience particularly pronounced price adjustments.

In Nigeria, the cost of X Premium+, which provides an ad-free experience and additional features, will be ₦34,000 per month, a considerable increase from the previous ₦7,300.

Turkish users will also see a substantial change, with the monthly fee rising to ₺770 from the current ₺300.

Basic Subscription Remains Affordable

The platform’s entry-level subscription tier will retain its current price point of $3 per month.
