Pickle Robot Appoints New CFO Following UPS Deal Reports

Pickle Robot, a developer of self-operating unloading robots designed for logistics facilities and distribution hubs, has announced the appointment of a new chief financial officer. This announcement follows closely on the heels of reports detailing a substantial agreement with UPS.

New Leadership at Pickle Robot

Based in Charlestown, Massachusetts, the company revealed on Thursday the hiring of Jeff Evanson as its CFO. Evanson had been providing consultancy services to Pickle Robot since September and has now transitioned into a full-time position.

Evanson’s Extensive Financial Background

Prior to joining Pickle Robot, Evanson held the position of Vice President of Global Investor Relations and Strategy at Tesla, serving from 2011 to 2017. During his tenure at Tesla, he collaborated directly with Elon Musk.

He played a key role in securing both debt and equity funding for the company. This financing was instrumental in supporting the introduction of several Tesla vehicle models and facilitating company acquisitions.

Strategic Timing with UPS Expansion

Evanson represents Pickle’s inaugural CFO appointment. His arrival coincides with reports of an expanded collaboration between Pickle Robot and the shipping industry leader, UPS.

According to Bloomberg, UPS is making a significant investment of $120 million. This investment will facilitate the procurement of 400 Pickle robots.

Deployment of these robots is scheduled to commence in late 2026 and continue into early 2027.

Company Response to UPS News

Pickle Robot has refrained from providing commentary on this week’s reports concerning UPS. However, a company spokesperson did verify that UPS has been a valued customer for several years.

The specific commencement date of the initial partnership was not disclosed.
