X (Twitter) Premium+ Price Increase After Grok 3 Release

X Premium+ Subscription Costs Increase Following Grok 3 Release
Shortly after xAI, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence firm, launched the newest iteration of its AI model, Grok 3, X has implemented a substantial price increase for its highest-tier Premium+ subscription. This plan provides users with access to the latest AI capabilities.
Price Adjustments in Key Markets
The support page detailing X’s premium offerings now reflects an updated monthly cost of $40 for Premium+ subscribers in the United States. An annual subscription is priced at $350. These changes weren't limited to the U.S.; price hikes were also observed in other regions shortly thereafter.
For example, users in the United Kingdom now face a monthly fee of £35, up from £17. Across several European nations, including France and Germany, the monthly price has risen from €21 to €38.
Second Price Hike in Recent Months
This marks the second time X has increased the price of the Premium+ plan within a short timeframe. In December, the subscription fee was raised from $16 to $22 per month. Consequently, the new pricing structure represents more than a doubling of costs for existing Premium+ subscribers.
Feature Differentiation with SuperGrok
xAI is structuring access to certain Grok 3 functionalities through a separate SuperGrok plan, accessible via the Grok application. As a result, features such as “deep search” and advanced “reasoning” capabilities will not be universally available to all Premium+ plan users.
Inconsistencies in Reported Pricing
It is important to note that pricing information on X appears to be inconsistent. Attempts to subscribe to Premium+ initially displayed a monthly cost of $39.83 ($477.95 annually).
However, the final checkout page indicated an annual cost of $395. Furthermore, while the support page lists a $50 monthly fee, the sign-up page quotes $48.40, and the actual charge at checkout is $40 per month.
This article has been updated to reflect the latest changes to X’s Premium Plan support page.Related Posts
