weflow Secures Pre-Seed Funding for Salesforce Update Tool

Addressing Salesforce Update Fatigue with Weflow
Many Salesforce users share a common frustration: the significant time required for record updates. Weflow is a company focused on resolving this issue, often referred to as “Salesforce fatigue.”
A New Tool for Streamlined Updates
Based in Berlin, Weflow is currently developing a tool – presently in private beta – designed to accelerate Salesforce updates and minimize repetitive tasks that consume salespeople’s valuable time.
The Productivity Paradox
Despite the fact that 83% of Fortune 500 companies utilize the platform to enhance sales productivity, a substantial portion of sales professionals dedicate the majority of their efforts to activities beyond direct selling.
From Experience to Innovation
Henrik Basten and Janis Zech, both experienced serial entrepreneurs who previously collaborated at Fyber, encountered this challenge firsthand while leading revenue teams. This led them to establish Weflow in late 2020, envisioning a revenue workspace constructed upon Salesforce’s database.
A Pipeline Management Solution
The goal was to empower salespeople to quickly input information into Salesforce records and efficiently manage their sales pipeline. CEO Zech explained to TechCrunch that the desire was to create a solution akin to Asana for pipeline management.
However, a key advantage lies in Salesforce’s open ecosystem, which allows for building complementary tools. The founders observed users navigating with numerous open tabs and scattered notes. Their approach was to design a more intuitive and user-friendly experience for updating information.
How Weflow Operates
The system allows users to connect their Salesforce account, granting access to their pipeline for swift updates to deals, tasks, notes, and activities – all achievable with just a few clicks. Importantly, all data remains securely within Salesforce.
Sales teams typically allocate several hours each week to this task, but Zech projects that Weflow can reduce this time commitment to approximately 20 minutes.
Enhanced Features for Sales Teams
Furthermore, the company has developed a contemporary notepad, specifically designed for Salesforce, enabling users to create templates. This ensures consistent questioning and data entry across the sales team. A task manager is also integrated into the platform.
Securing Pre-Seed Funding
Today, Weflow announced the successful completion of a $2.7 million pre-seed funding round, spearheaded by Cherry Ventures. The round also included participation from a group of angel investors, including Christian Reber, Sascha Konietzke, Chris Schagen, Alexander Ljung, Eric Quidenus-Wahlforss and Andreas Bodczek.
A Familiar Partnership
Filip Dames, a partner at Cherry Ventures, highlighted a pre-existing relationship with the founders from their time at Fyber. He expressed his enthusiasm to support Weflow’s development.
Addressing a Critical Need in the Startup Landscape
Dames observed that many startups begin with a sales focus, a process that can be challenging to scale, particularly when existing sales tools are perceived as costly and cumbersome.
He emphasized the potential of building upon the Salesforce platform, providing a broad scope for future development. “Janis and Henrik are addressing a significant market opportunity with the potential for substantial returns,” he stated. “Salesforce generates $20 billion in revenue, fostering a fertile ground for new ventures.”
By improving the user experience, salespeople can dedicate more time to direct customer engagement.
Team Growth and Product Launch
Over the past few months, Basten and Zech have expanded their team to 10 members. Currently, 15 co-development partners are piloting the product, with additional partners being onboarded weekly. Zech anticipates a public launch of the product in early next year.
Future Investment and Accessibility
The newly acquired funding will be allocated to marketing initiatives and continued product development. Weflow is adopting a product-led approach and plans to eventually offer a free version of the platform, Zech added.
“Our aim is to assist all users, as the problem is widely recognized by anyone familiar with Salesforce,” he concluded. “We are confident in our ability to provide a solution and have a strong foundation to build upon.”
