Waze & Headspace Partner for Stress-Free Commutes

Waze and Headspace Collaborate for Stress-Free Commutes
Waze has announced a new partnership with the meditation application Headspace. This collaboration introduces “Drive with Headspace,” a feature designed to reduce stress during daily commutes.
The aim of this integration is to assist drivers in discovering a greater sense of fulfillment and positivity while traveling. Users can select from five distinct moods: aware, bright, hopeful, joyful, and open.
Enhanced Audio Experience
Drivers can now enjoy a specially curated Spotify playlist. This playlist combines music with mindfulness content developed by Headspace, accessible directly through the Waze audio player.
The experience extends to visual customization as well. Users have the option to replace the standard in-app vehicle icon with a visually calming hot air balloon.
Guided Navigation and Mindfulness
Custom navigation prompts are provided by Eve Lewis Prieto, Headspace’s director of meditation. These prompts are intended to promote a more mindful driving experience.
Waze highlights the detrimental effects of traffic on well-being. Prolonged commutes can negatively impact blood pressure, sleep quality, and even contribute to back pain and depression.
Addressing Commute-Related Stress
Recognizing the increasing return to regular commutes, Waze sought a solution to mitigate these negative effects. The partnership with Headspace was initiated following World Mental Health Day.
Availability and Activation
The “Drive with Headspace” experience is currently available in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. It is being rolled out for a limited time.
To activate the feature, users should navigate to “My Waze” within the application and locate the “Drive with Headspace” banner.
Expanding Driving Experiences
Waze has consistently introduced various driving experiences to enhance user commutes. Recent additions include themed experiences featuring Paw Patrol, Fraggle Rock, and a celebration of Pride.
Furthermore, the app integrates with numerous subscription services, such as Audible, Spotify, Pandora, YouTube Music, and iHeartRadio. This allows for seamless navigation alongside preferred audio applications.
