Walmart inadvertently made public details regarding its upcoming line of onn-branded Android TV streaming devices through premature listings on Walmart.com. The listings showcased both a budget-friendly streaming stick and a 4K capable streaming device.

Entry-Level Streaming Stick: A Competitive Price Point

The more affordable of the two, the streaming stick, was previously noted in an FCC filing earlier this year. However, its online appearance drew attention due to its remarkably low price of $24.88. This cost positions it favorably against competitors in the streaming market.

Currently, Roku offers the Roku Express 4K as its least expensive 4K player at $34.99, exclusively at Walmart. The standard Roku Express is available for $24.99. Comparatively, Google’s Chromecast is priced at $29.99, while Amazon’s Fire TV Stick Lite retails for $24.99.

Device Specifications and Features

The onn streaming stick delivers specifications typical of a low-cost streaming solution. It supports Full HD (1080p) resolution and Dolby Audio. The package includes an Android TV-style remote with included batteries, an HDMI extender, an AC adapter, and a USB to micro-USB cable.

Powered by the Android TV operating system, the device transforms conventional televisions into smart TVs. Users gain access to streaming applications, voice control functionality, and the ability to cast content – such as photos, videos, and music – directly to the screen.
