Unofficial Windows XP Themes - Microsoft

Unofficial Windows XP Themes by Microsoft
Individuals familiar with Windows customization are likely aware that altering the visual theme in Windows XP often necessitates modifying the uxtheme file. This is required for installing themes not digitally signed by Microsoft. If patching your system isn't preferred or feasible, exploring these unofficial themes originating from Microsoft itself may be of interest.
While other themes may exist, the following represent those currently known. Readers are encouraged to share any additional discoveries in the comments section.
Royale Theme
The Royale theme is characterized by its vibrant and predominantly blue color scheme. Its striking use of blue is immediately apparent. Installation involves downloading the theme, extracting the contents of the zip file, and then executing the provided installer.
During installation, it’s recommended to accept the default save location when prompted.
Following installation, the theme can be selected and applied through the display settings menu. The Royale Theme can be downloaded from Softpedia.
Royale Noir Theme
Royale Noir was intended as a darker variant of the original Royale theme. However, its development was incomplete when it was publicly released by a Microsoft employee.
To install, extract the zip file and copy the 'royale_noir' folder to 'C:\Windows\Resources\Themes'. Then, locate the 'Luna.msstyles' file within that directory and double-click it to adjust settings as shown in the accompanying screenshot.
The Royale Noir theme is available for download from istartedsomething.com.
Zune Theme
The Zune theme was released concurrently with the launch of the Zune media player. It shares visual similarities with Royale Noir, with the notable exception of a distinctive orange start button, which some may find aesthetically unappealing.
Installation of the Zune theme is straightforward; simply download the installer and run it. The Zune Theme can be obtained directly from Microsoft.com.
