Unagi Smart Scooter - Turn-by-Turn Directions & GPS Tracking
Unagi Model Eleven: Introducing a New Smart Scooter
Unagi Scooters has recently unveiled the Model Eleven, which the company positions as the first truly intelligent scooter available to consumers.
This innovative scooter incorporates several notable features, including audible navigation guidance, a remote immobilization function, and an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) utilizing sophisticated sensors.
Enhanced Navigation and Entertainment
Users can enjoy their preferred audio content, such as music or podcasts, via the integrated Bluetooth speaker.
Furthermore, the scooter provides clear, spoken turn-by-turn directions to assist riders in reaching their destinations.
Unagi collaborated with Google to seamlessly integrate this navigation functionality into both its iOS and Android applications.
Once a destination is selected and the smartphone is stored away, directional cues are delivered through the scooter’s audio system and visually displayed on the integrated screen.
Security Features for Peace of Mind
A motion-activated alarm system is included to deter theft attempts.
In the event of a scooter being stolen, GPS tracking allows for its location to be monitored.
Owners also have the capability to remotely disable the scooter's motor through the mobile application.
Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS)
The higher-specification version of the Model Eleven boasts an ADAS sensor as its most prominent feature.
Unagi states that this system can accurately identify pedestrians, traffic signals, vehicles, and other obstacles.
Potential collision warnings are communicated to the rider through both audible alerts and visual indicators on the touchscreen display.
Design and Construction
The Model Eleven’s design was refined with the assistance of renowned industrial designer Yves Béhar.
Unagi claims it is the lightest full-suspension scooter currently on the market, achieved in part through the utilization of long carbon fiber materials.
The scooter maintains the existing dual-motor system from Unagi, alongside a swappable battery system for extended range.
Additionally, it features tires designed to be puncture-resistant and easily replaceable when necessary.
Pricing and Availability
The standard Model Eleven is priced at $2,440.
The ADAS-equipped model carries a price tag of $2,860.
Initial pre-orders are being accepted through an Indiegogo campaign.
Given Best Buy’s current distribution of Unagi scooters, it is anticipated that the Model Eleven will become available at other retail locations in the future.
