Twitter Now Lets You Limit Replies to Tweets - After Posting!

New Twitter Feature Offers Greater Control Over Replies
For users who experience unwanted interactions on Twitter, a recently launched feature provides a solution to mitigate disruptive replies.
As of today, Twitter users have the ability to modify reply settings on individual tweets after they have been published.
Previously Limited Functionality
Prior to this update, restricting who could reply was only possible during tweet creation. Adjusting these settings post-publication was not an option.
This change addresses a common issue where the potential for unwanted attention isn't apparent until after a tweet gains traction.
Enhanced Control and Utility
The expanded functionality makes limiting replies to followers or those specifically mentioned in a tweet significantly more practical.
Simply muting accounts doesn’t always effectively address the problem of unwanted engagement.
Boosting Meaningful Conversations
Twitter initially introduced reply limitations last August with the goal of fostering more “meaningful conversations” on the platform.
This was also intended to enhance user safety and reduce harassment experienced while tweeting.
Feature Discovery
Product researcher Jane Manchun Wong initially identified the development of this expanded feature back in June.
The update provides users with increased agency over their Twitter experience and the nature of interactions surrounding their posts.
