Twitter Super Follows Now Available to All iOS Users

Twitter Expands Super Follows to All iOS Users
Twitter is now making the Super Follows feature available to all iOS users worldwide. Previously, access to this functionality was restricted to users located in the United States and Canada.
What are Super Follows?
Super Follows enable users to financially support creators whose content they enjoy through a monthly subscription. In return for this subscription fee, followers gain access to exclusive content offered by the creator.
This feature was initially released in September, following its initial announcement in February. It represents another avenue for content creators to generate revenue directly through the Twitter platform.
Subscription Pricing and Content Access
Creators who are eligible can establish the pricing for their Super Follow subscriptions. The available price tiers are $2.99, $4.99, or $9.99 per month.
A key aspect of Super Follows is the ability for creators to designate specific tweets as exclusive to subscribers. This allows them to provide premium content while still maintaining engagement with their broader, non-paying follower base.
Eligibility Requirements for Creators
Currently, creators must apply to activate Super Follows on their accounts. To qualify, creators are required to be based in the U.S. and demonstrate a substantial following, specifically having at least 10,000 followers.
Furthermore, eligibility necessitates consistent activity, with a minimum of 25 tweets published within the preceding month.
Early Performance of Super Follows
Recent data from Sensor Tower indicates that Super Follows generated approximately $6,000 in revenue within the U.S. and around $600 in Canada during its initial two weeks of availability.
Twitter acknowledges the relatively slow start but maintains that it is premature to draw definitive conclusions about the feature’s long-term performance.
Other Monetization Features on Twitter
It is important to recognize that Super Follows is not the only method Twitter offers for creators to monetize their presence on the platform.
Earlier in the year, Twitter introduced Tip Jar, which allows followers to send one-time payments to accounts they support. This test is currently limited to a select group of eligible accounts, including creators, journalists, experts, and nonprofit organizations.
Additionally, Twitter has launched Ticketed Spaces, enabling creators to charge between $1 and $999 for access to their live audio rooms.
