turbo systems becomes appify and launches app marketplace

Jen Grant assumed the position of CEO at Turbo Systems, a no-code mobile application platform, in March, coinciding with the onset of business closures due to COVID-19. She immediately began her work, and in the past six months, she has spearheaded two significant developments the company revealed today: a rebranding initiative and the launch of a new application marketplace.
Initially, the company is updating its name to Appify to better represent its focus on mobile application development. Grant noted that many individuals associated the term “turbo” with automobiles. Consequently, they initiated a search for a more fitting name, ultimately discovering Appify.
“During our exploration of potential names and our core values, we realized a central aspect of our work is enhancing businesses, systems, and teams through applications. When we came across Appify and found the domain name was available, we acted swiftly,” Grant stated.
Concurrently, Grant engaged with customers and recognized that while the company’s primary goal is to simplify mobile app creation, particularly within the field service sector, they could further streamline the process. Instead of requiring customers to construct apps from scratch, they could offer a marketplace featuring pre-designed applications that users could then tailor to their specific needs.
“With the Appify Marketplace, we’re shifting from providing a set of components and asking customers to solve their business challenges independently, to offering a ready-to-use app that can be deployed in minutes. It includes all the necessary features and can be easily customized using our no-code platform to align with individual business requirements,” she explained.
The marketplace debuts today with a pair of applications targeted at the company’s established field service clientele. These include Field Sales, enabling field-based sales representatives to generate and transmit bids or quotes directly from a tablet without returning to the office. The other is a Field Service application designed for repair technicians, providing comprehensive repair details and allowing them to update customer information remotely via a mobile device.
Grant indicated that this launch represents only the beginning, with numerous additional applications planned for release in the coming months. In the future, they may also enable systems integrators to leverage the platform to develop applications tailored to specific industries.
Appify originated as Turbo Systems in 2017 and has secured over $11 million in funding, as per PitchBook data.
