Tubi Expands Content Offering with YouTube Creator Partnerships

Fox Corporation’s streaming platform, Tubi, revealed a new initiative on Wednesday designed to expand its content selection and engage a broader, younger audience. This program centers around integrating content originating from prominent YouTubers.

The newly launched Creators program will initially feature over 500 video segments of episodic content sourced from six different YouTube creators. Among these is Mythical Entertainment, the company founded by Rhett and Link.

Strategic Move to Boost Viewership

Tubi’s strategy involves collaborating with creators who have already cultivated dedicated fan bases. This approach aims to draw those existing viewers to the Tubi platform and strengthen its competitive position within the increasingly saturated streaming landscape.

Recent data from Nielsen indicates YouTube’s dominance in streaming, capturing 12.5% of all television viewing time in May. In contrast, Tubi currently holds a 2.2% share. This move mirrors a similar tactic employed by Peacock, which is actively training popular TikTok personalities to develop original programming for its service.

Featured Content from Popular YouTube Channels

The initial content additions to Tubi include:

  • Mythical Entertainment’s “Last Meals,” a widely-followed interview show centered around food, hosted by Mythical Chef Josh Scherer.
  • Dan and Riya, the Canadian comedic pair recognized for their “Beverly Valley High” series.
  • FunnyMike, showcasing his comedy series, “Mr. Creepy Eyes.”
  • Jubilee (Jason Y. Lee) will contribute several of his popular video series, such as “Odd One Out” and “Ranking.”
  • Kinigra Deon will offer her collection of dramedy series, including “Vampire Siblings,” “College Life,” and “The World Didn’t End When I Was 16.”
  • Watcher, featuring Ryan Bergara, Shane Madej, and Steven Lim, will release episodes from their unscripted shows, including “Ghost Files” and “Puppet History.”

Tubi anticipates adding further creators and thousands of additional videos to the platform in the coming weeks.

Supporting Emerging Talent

This initiative builds upon Tubi’s previous efforts to showcase content from up-and-coming creators. The platform recently established a partnership with Kickstarter to feature films funded through the platform and to provide financial support.

Last year, Tubi launched “Stubios,” a program designed to provide a venue for aspiring filmmakers to submit their original content for consideration.
