Real-Time Shipment Tracking | Tive

Global Supply Chain Visibility Challenges
Current pressures on the global supply chain are significantly impacted by a lack of comprehensive tracking of goods in transit. Recent surveys indicate that close to half of all organizations have limited or no insight into the operations of their upstream supply chains.
Tive: A Real-Time Freight Tracking Solution
Recognizing this critical need, Krenar Komoni established Tive. His initial experience assisting his father-in-law with fleet management spurred the development of technology designed to precisely locate freight shipments as they move.
How Tive's Technology Works
Tive provides companies, particularly those in the life sciences, food and beverage industries, with disposable tracking devices. These devices connect to a cloud-based platform, enabling real-time shipment status monitoring.
Beyond location, Tive’s sensors are capable of recording crucial environmental data. This includes temperature, humidity, light exposure, and even instances of physical impact or “shock.”
Platform Features and Capabilities
Customers utilizing Tive’s cloud platform gain access to immediate alerts, detailed analytics, and collaborative data-sharing functionalities.
According to Komoni, “Millions of real-time shipment alerts have already been generated by Tive trackers.” He further explained that the trackers employ a multi-faceted approach to pinpoint accuracy, integrating cellular triangulation, Wi-Fi positioning, and GPS technologies.
From Vehicle Tracking to Shipment Monitoring
Initially, Tive’s focus was on providing tracking solutions for vehicles and truckers. However, Komoni, leveraging his expertise in radio frequency and chip design engineering, identified a larger market opportunity in directly monitoring the shipments themselves.
Customer Base and Revenue Streams
Currently, Tive serves over 900 customers across diverse sectors. These include pharmaceuticals, “high-value” goods, as well as military and government entities.
The company generates revenue through several avenues, including annual software subscriptions for its cloud platform, direct sales of tracking devices, and fees associated with shipment monitoring services.
Future Outlook and Profitability
Komoni anticipates that Tive will achieve profitability by 2026.
He stated, “Tive’s broad focus on supply chain solutions for a wide range of goods—durable, nondurable, perishable, industrial, consumer, and more—positions the company favorably to navigate economic downturns and broader tech sector challenges.”
Despite a recent freight recession following the COVID-19 pandemic, Tive has consistently experienced year-over-year growth exceeding 50% and projects an even faster growth rate in 2025.
Recent Funding and Expansion Plans
To support its growing team of approximately 243 employees in Boston, Tive recently secured $40 million in a Series C funding round. This round was co-led by World Innovation Lab and Sageview Capital, with participation from AVP, RRE Ventures, Two Sigma Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Fifth Wall, Supply Chain Ventures, and Sorenson Capital.
This new investment brings Tive’s total funding to $120 million. The funds will be allocated to expanding the workforce, developing innovative products, enhancing sustainability programs (including a tracker recycling initiative), and extending the platform’s reach to additional countries.
