TikTok on Amazon Fire TV: Now Available in US & Canada

TikTok Now Available on Amazon Fire TV and Echo Show
Amazon has revealed the launch of the TikTok application on its Amazon Fire TV platform for viewers located in the United States and Canada.
The TikTok app is also slated for release on Echo Show devices in the near future.
Accessing TikTok on Fire TV
Following installation via the Fire TV Appstore, users can either sign in with an existing TikTok account or establish a new one.
Currently, TikTok boasts over one billion monthly active users globally.
The Fire TV app mirrors the functionality of the mobile version, allowing access to familiar feeds such as “Following,” “For You,” and the Discover page.
Enhanced Viewing Experience
Unlike the mobile app, which requires manual scrolling for each video, the Fire TV version features automatic autoplay.
This eliminates the need for constant remote control interaction or voice commands to Alexa to advance to the next video.
Expanding TV Accessibility
TikTok is not new to the television landscape; the app is already compatible with Google TV, Android TV, and select Samsung smart TVs.
The recent expansion of TikTok’s video length limit to three minutes may encourage more users to view content on larger screens.
Previously, shorter 15-second videos might have been more suited to mobile viewing.
Competitive Landscape
The availability of TikTok on TVs represents another strategic move in the ongoing competition with YouTube.
Earlier this year, YouTube launched YouTube Shorts as a direct competitor to TikTok’s short-form video format.
This move, alongside the longer video support, demonstrates TikTok’s commitment to challenging YouTube’s dominance in the video space.
