TigerGraph Secures $105 Million in Series C Funding

TigerGraph, an enterprise startup specializing in graph databases and analytics, has announced the successful completion of a $105 million Series C funding round.

This latest investment was spearheaded by Tiger Global, increasing the company's total funding to exceed $170 million.

Expanding Graph Analytics Capabilities

According to Yu Xu, founder and CEO of TigerGraph, the company is at the forefront of a significant shift in data analysis.

“TigerGraph is pioneering a new approach to data connection and analysis through scalable, native graph technology,” Xu stated. “This technology utilizes pre-connected entities, contrasting with traditional methods of joining large tables.”

The newly acquired funding will be strategically allocated to broaden the company’s service offerings and extend its market reach.

Notable Clients and Service Offerings

TigerGraph currently serves a diverse portfolio of prominent clients, including Amgen, Citrix, Intuit, Jaguar Land Rover, and UnitedHealth Group.

These customers leverage the company’s services to efficiently store and query their graph databases using GSQL, a query language resembling SQL.

The core of TigerGraph’s offerings is the TigerGraphDB database and analytics platform.

Additionally, the company provides TigerGraph Cloud, a hosted service with pay-as-you-go pricing available on both AWS and Azure.

For visual data modeling and analysis, GraphStudio offers a user-friendly graphical interface.

Scalability and Diverse Applications

The TigerGraph database services are engineered to handle substantial datasets, scaling to tens of terabytes with billions of edges.

Its technology supports a wide range of applications, including fraud detection, comprehensive customer profiles, IoT solutions, and advancements in AI and machine learning.

Accelerated Digital Transformation

Like many companies in the data analytics sector, TigerGraph is benefiting from the accelerated digital transformation initiatives undertaken by enterprises during the recent pandemic.

The company notes that the pandemic has driven an increased urgency for businesses to gain deeper insights into their customers, products, services, and supply chains.

Graph technology effectively connects these domains from relational databases, streamlining data preparation and enhancing data quality.

This connectivity facilitates the identification of patterns and enables the delivery of more effective recommendations.
