CaiqueTech's Innovative PI SpeedGun: A Modular Radar Solution

During CES 2025, within the Eureka Hall startup area, CaiqueTech presented a reimagined approach to the conventional baseball radar gun. Having initially developed a self-contained unit, the Korean company has now engineered a modular design.

This new version connects directly to a smartphone utilizing the USB-C port, offering enhanced portability and convenience.

Core Functionality and Demonstration

The PI SpeedGun module incorporates integrated radar technology. Although a live baseball pitching demonstration wasn't available at the event, the system was actively showcased.

It successfully tracked the speed of individuals as they moved past the display, demonstrating its core capabilities.

Data Display and Accuracy Considerations

The measured speed and other relevant statistics are then clearly presented on the connected smartphone’s screen. Assessing the system’s precision proved challenging given the bustling environment of the convention center.

Evaluating accuracy required a controlled setting, which wasn't feasible during the show.

Launch Plans and Pricing

CaiqueTech intends to launch the PI SpeedGun commercially in the near future. According to a company spokesperson who spoke with TechCrunch, a Kickstarter campaign is planned for around June.

The anticipated funding goal and initial retail price are set at approximately $150.

Target Audience and Potential Applications

This compact device is expected to be particularly useful for recreational baseball and softball players. It provides an accessible means of measuring pitch speed and tracking performance.

The modular design and smartphone integration offer a modern and convenient alternative to traditional radar guns.
