New iPad Pro with M1 Chip - Apple's Latest Tablet

New iPad Pro Unveiled with M1 Chip
Today’s Spring Loaded event saw the unveiling of a new iteration of Apple’s flagship tablet, the iPad Pro. This latest model marks a significant advancement, being the first in the series to integrate the M1 chip, previously featured in Apple’s Mac lineup.
Performance Boosts
The incorporated M1 chip boasts an 8-core CPU, delivering performance gains of up to 50% when compared to the A12Z Bionic chip found in the prior generation. Furthermore, an 8-core GPU is included, promising up to 40% faster graphics processing.
Configurations can be specified with up to 16 GB of RAM and storage capacities reaching 2 TB.
Enhanced Connectivity and Features
This new iPad Pro continues to narrow the gap between Apple’s tablet and desktop offerings. Battery life has also been enhanced, now advertised as lasting “all day.”
The addition of Thunderbolt support via the USB-C port unlocks new capabilities. These include compatibility with external displays and data transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps.
5G and Improved Camera System
Following the trend set by the iPhone, the iPad Pro now incorporates 5G connectivity. Like the recently released iMac, the Pro benefits from an upgraded image signal processor (ISP) integrated within the Apple silicon.
A new ultrawide camera has been added, enhancing video conferencing capabilities. It features a 120-degree field of view and the innovative “Center Stage” feature, which dynamically adjusts to keep users in frame – a functionality previously seen in select smart displays.
Audio quality is also improved with a four-speaker array powered by Dolby Atmos.
Liquid Retina XDR Display
The 12.9-inch model introduces an enhanced display technology, termed Liquid Retina XDR by Apple. This results in significantly improved high dynamic range performance.
The display utilizes 10,000 mini-LEDs, enabling a dramatically increased contrast ratio and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, all while maintaining efficient battery consumption.
Pricing and Availability
The 11-inch iPad Pro will be available starting at $799. The 12.9-inch version, featuring the Liquid Retina XDR display, will start at $1,099.
Pre-orders for the new tablets begin on April 30th, with shipping expected to commence in the latter half of May, alongside other products announced at today’s event.
