The Last of Us on Max: Now Streaming in American Sign Language

ASL Streaming Availability for "The Last of Us" on Max
Max revealed on Wednesday the highly anticipated HBO series, “The Last of Us,” will be made available for streaming with American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation.
The premiere of Season 2 is scheduled for April 13th.
A Milestone for Accessibility
This marks the inaugural instance of HBO’s original programming being offered with ASL streaming directly on the platform.
This development signifies a considerable advancement in inclusivity, specifically catering to viewers who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Beyond “The Last of Us,” Max is also providing ASL versions of popular films such as “Barbie,” “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” and “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.”
Other Streaming Services Offering ASL Options
It’s worth noting that Disney+ is another prominent streaming service that currently provides ASL options for its content.
An example of this is the availability of ASL interpretation for Marvel’s “Ant-Man.”
Catch Up Before Season 2
Starting March 31st, viewers will also be able to stream the complete first season of “The Last of Us” with ASL interpretation.
This allows deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences to experience the initial storyline before the release of the new season.
Talent Behind the ASL Interpretations
The ASL performances will be skillfully delivered by Daniel Durant, known for his role in “Coda,” and accomplished ASL performer Leila Hanaumi.
