Windows 7/Vista: Switch Windows by Hovering Mouse

Mouse Hover Activation in Windows 7 & Vista
A specialized mouse mode is available in Windows 7 and Vista that allows window switching simply by hovering the mouse cursor over the desired window. This functionality, historically known as XWindows mode, previously required the use of third-party tools like TweakUI.
Enabling the Feature
The setting is now integrated directly into the Windows Control Panel. To activate this feature, initiate a search within the Control Panel using the term "mouse works".
A result labeled "Change how your mouse works" should appear in the search results. Select this option to proceed.
Within the Mouse Properties window, scroll down to locate the checkbox corresponding to "Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse". Ensure this box is checked to enable the feature.
This modification alters the way Windows handles window focus. Instead of requiring a click, hovering the mouse over a window will bring it to the foreground.
Adjusting to the New Mode
It may require a period of adjustment to become accustomed to this new interaction method. Remember that consistent mouse hovering over a window is now the mechanism for shifting focus.
The system will now activate windows based on mouse position, offering a potentially faster workflow for some users.
