Streamlabs Launches Crossclip for Multi-Platform Highlight Sharing

Streamlabs, the company known for its widely-used livestreaming software, has unveiled a new tool designed to facilitate the sharing of gaming highlights across various social media platforms beyond Twitch. This new offering, named Crossclip, is currently available as both an iOS application and a streamlined web-based tool.

Expanding Reach Beyond Twitch

Crossclip empowers content creators to effortlessly convert Twitch clips into formats suitable for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook videos. Sharing a desired Twitch segment is achieved by simply inputting the clip’s URL and selecting a preferred output format – landscape, vertical, or square – alongside a pre-designed layout.

Within Crossclip, users have the ability to adjust clip length, apply background blurring, and select from a variety of layouts. These layouts allow for the simultaneous display of both the facecam and the stream view, particularly useful for vertical video formats.

The core features of Crossclip are available at no cost. However, a premium subscription, priced at $4.99 per month or $49.99 annually, removes the branded watermark and unlocks higher-resolution exports (1080/60fps), increased upload limits, additional layering options, and prioritizes processing of edits.

Addressing Discoverability Challenges

Gaining visibility on Twitch can be challenging. While established streamers readily expand their audiences, newcomers often face difficulties and prolonged periods of low viewership. Crossclip aims to alleviate this by enabling streamers to cultivate followings on platforms with superior discovery features, thriving communities, and effective tagging systems.

According to Ashray Urs, Head of Product at Streamlabs, “Increasing content discoverability is a significant benefit for creators.” He further explained, “Many popular Twitch streamers also maintain active presences on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. Expanding your reach across multiple platforms is crucial for growth.”

The increasing utilization of TikTok’s algorithmic discovery capabilities by creators is noteworthy. TikTok’s recent introduction of longer, three-minute videos is particularly advantageous for gamers and other Twitch streamers seeking to leverage the platform.

Crossclip is designed to be user-friendly for those with existing audiences, simplifying the process of sharing gaming highlights or “Just Chatting” clips across various social networks. The typical clip conversion process takes approximately two to three minutes and requires only a single click. While similar tools exist, such as StreamLadder, Streamlabs offers a refined experience coupled with a dedicated mobile application.

Logitech-owned Streamlabs has recently launched several helpful products. In February, the company introduced Willow, a link-in-bio tool with integrated tipping functionality. In May, Streamlabs strengthened its integration with TikTok, enabling “go live” functionality within its core livestreaming platform, Streamlabs OBS.
