Spotify Netflix Hub: Music & Podcasts for Shows & Movies

Netflix and Spotify Expand Partnership with New “Netflix Hub”
Are you searching for the music featured in your preferred Netflix series? Locating it is now simpler due to a broadened collaboration between Netflix and Spotify.
Spotify, the streaming music platform, has unveiled a new “Netflix Hub” within its application.
This hub serves as a central location for discovering official soundtracks, curated playlists, and podcasts associated with popular Netflix shows and films.
Featured Content in the Netflix Hub
Currently, the Netflix Hub showcases soundtracks and playlists from series such as Stranger Things, La Casa De Papel, Narcos: Mexico, Outer Banks, Squid Game, tick, tick…Boom!, Bridgerton, Cowboy Bebop, Virgin River, and On My Block.
The hub also incorporates podcasts linked to Netflix, including Okay, Now Listen, Netflix Is A Daily Joke, 10/10 Would Recommend, You Can’t Make This Up, as well as podcasts dedicated to specific shows like The Crown: The Official Podcast and Behind the Scenes: Shadow and Bone.
Enhanced Experiences and Partnerships
Beyond music, the new destination offers unique fan experiences.
This includes an enhanced album for the Netflix Western film “The Harder They Fall”, providing a behind-the-scenes perspective on the soundtrack’s creation, spearheaded by Jay-Z.
Furthermore, a dedicated content area exists for “La Casa De Papel (Money Heist),” Part 5 Volume 2.
Fans can also participate in a character-matching game to determine which “La Casa De Papel” character they most resemble.
Building on an Existing Relationship
This hub represents an evolution of the existing partnership between Spotify and Netflix, as stated by Spotify to TechCrunch.
The companies have previously collaborated on numerous official playlists, most recently with the enhanced album for “The Harder They Fall”.
Prior to this launch, they also worked together on the “Money Heist” content experience and the character-matching game.
A Collaborative Effort, Not an Acquisition
It’s important to note that Netflix did not pay for a dedicated hub within Spotify’s app.
This isn’t an advertising arrangement, and no financial transaction occurred.
Both companies recognize the benefits of collaborating to engage their shared audience base.
Similar Partnerships and Competitive Landscape
Netflix isn’t the only major entity to launch a thematic “hub” on Spotify’s platform.
Spotify and Peloton recently announced a similar partnership, introducing a “Curated by Peloton” Workout Hub.
Additionally, Spotify collaborated with GIPHY earlier this year to allow users to discover music through artist GIFs.
Offering exclusive Netflix content on Spotify could be strategically advantageous, considering Apple’s emergence as a competitor in the streaming market with Apple TV+.
Spotify, currently, hasn’t ventured into Netflix’s primary business area, making a partnership a logical approach.
Future Plans and Availability
Spotify intends to introduce more exclusive content to the Netflix Hub in the coming months.
The Netflix Hub is accessible to all Spotify users, both Free and Premium, in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and India.
