Sony and Honda Reveal Afeela EV Pricing

Since its initial unveiling in 2023, Sony has gradually released information regarding the Afeela brand, a collaborative effort with Honda. However, a crucial piece of information remained undisclosed – until now.

At CES 2025, Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida revealed the starting price for the four-door Afeela EV will be $89,900. Sony Honda Mobility will also provide a more fully-equipped trim level, commencing at $102,900.

Reservation Details and Complimentary Features

Both Afeela models will include a complimentary three-year subscription to select functionalities and features. Reservations for the Afeela EV are now being accepted.

Currently, customers located in California can secure a reservation with a fully refundable deposit of $200.

The Vision Behind Afeela

The Afeela is designed as a four-door, all-electric sedan. It aims to integrate Honda’s established manufacturing expertise and dependability with Sony’s advanced infotainment and software capabilities.

A concept vehicle showcased to TechCrunch in 2023 featured a cinematic display, luxurious seating, and an unconventional yoke-style steering wheel.

Notably, the initial concept lacked conventional features like door handles.

Production Model Expectations

The final production version of the Afeela is anticipated to be more practical and refined. For example, the inclusion of functional door handles is expected.

However, the synergy between software and hardware – encompassing sensors and screens – will remain a central focus. Further details concerning the Afeela are scheduled to be unveiled during a dedicated CES press conference on Tuesday.
