Skello Raises $47.3M to Revolutionize Employee Scheduling

Skello Secures $47.3 Million to Revolutionize Workforce Scheduling
The French tech company, Skello, has successfully completed a funding round, securing $47.3 million (€40 million) in investment. The company specializes in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform designed to streamline and optimize company work schedules.
Investment Details and Previous Funding
This latest funding round was spearheaded by Partech, with continued participation from existing investors XAnge and Aglaé Ventures. Prior to this, Skello had already raised €300,000 in seed funding and a €6 million Series A round back in 2018.
Addressing a Common Pain Point
Skello caters to a diverse range of businesses, including those in the retail, hospitality, pharmacy, and fitness sectors. Many companies in these industries have traditionally relied on manual methods, such as Microsoft Excel, for managing employee schedules.
Features for Managers and Employees
The platform provides a comprehensive online solution for both management and staff. Managers gain visibility into employee availability and can efficiently assign shifts to cover operational needs.
Employees benefit from a dedicated interface to view their schedules, submit unavailability requests, and manage time off. Furthermore, the system facilitates shift swapping when unforeseen circumstances arise.
Employee-Centric Design
“Our primary focus is to empower employees through the product,” explains Quitterie Mathelin-Moreaux, co-founder and CEO. “A mobile application is central to this approach, fostering a collaborative scheduling environment that optimizes resource allocation and boosts employee retention.”
Automated Compliance with Labor Regulations
A key differentiator for Skello is its automated adherence to local labor laws and collective bargaining agreements. The system proactively manages crucial aspects like mandatory weekly rest periods.
It also prevents scheduling conflicts that violate work hour limitations and accurately tracks overtime, holiday hours, and Sunday shifts.
Streamlined Payroll Integration
Skello simplifies administrative tasks by generating comprehensive timesheet reports at the end of each month. Direct integration with existing payroll systems further reduces manual effort and potential errors.
Future Expansion Plans
Currently deployed across 7,000 locations, Skello intends to leverage this new funding to expand its reach into additional European markets. The company also plans to double its workforce, growing from 150 to 300 employees by 2022.
Skello aims to become the leading workforce management solution for businesses navigating complex labor regulations.
