Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: Release Date, Price & AI Features

Samsung Unveils Galaxy S25 Lineup with Emphasis on Mobile AI
At its annual Samsung Unpacked 2025 event held on Wednesday, Samsung announced the newest models in its Galaxy S series of flagship smartphones. The Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra are characterized by the company’s continued investment in mobile AI capabilities – a trend mirroring the broader industry landscape.
Galaxy S25 Ultra: The Flagship
The Galaxy S25 Ultra leads the new trio. Priced at $1,300, this model, which serves as the successor to the Galaxy Note with its integrated stylus, maintains the same price as its predecessor. It features a 6.9-inch display and a sophisticated rear camera system.
This camera array comprises four lenses: a 50-megapixel ultra-wide, a 200-megapixel wide-angle, and dual telephoto lenses offering 3x and 5x optical zoom.
Performance and Processing Power
All three S25 tiers are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor. Samsung has implemented its own optimizations and branding to this silicon, which is expected to be featured in many flagship smartphones released over the coming year.
Performance gains are significant. The CPU demonstrates a 37% improvement in processing speed, while the GPU sees a 30% increase. The NPU (neural processing unit) experiences the most substantial enhancement, with a 40% boost, reflecting the growing importance of artificial intelligence.
Enhanced Features for Gaming and Imaging
The S25 Ultra and S25+ benefit from ProScaler, an AI-driven image sharpening feature that requires a QHD+ display resolution for optimal functionality. Gaming performance is improved through the Snapdragon’s on-device Vulkan Engine and Ray Tracing capabilities.
A 40% larger vapor chamber ensures efficient device cooling during intensive use.
Integration of Google’s Gemini AI
Google’s AI features are now more deeply integrated into the device’s core functionality. Quick access to Home and Bixby has been replaced by the ability to activate Gemini with a long press of the side button.
Alongside Circle to Search, initially introduced with the Galaxy line, the devices offer a range of generative AI tools for writing and drawing.
Battery, Storage, and Availability
The Ultra is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, 12GB of RAM, and storage options up to 1TB. It will be available in Titanium Silverblue, Titanium Whitesilver, Titanium Gray, and Titanium Black.
Exclusive color options – pink, gold, and green – will be offered to customers who purchase directly from Samsung.
Preorders for all three S25 models begin Wednesday, with shipments commencing on February 7.
