With the year 2020 drawing to a close, many individuals are looking ahead to the future. Samsung is capitalizing on this forward-looking sentiment by allowing customers to register their interest in the forthcoming Galaxy S21 smartphone – although this is not the device’s confirmed name, it is widely anticipated.

Individuals subscribed to Samsung Mobile’s email updates may have received a message encouraging them to “Get ready to jump to the next Galaxy.” This message directs recipients to a reservation page that provides benefits for early commitment to the company’s next premier phone, such as discounts on other Samsung products including Galaxy earbuds.

The company has recently indicated that further details will be revealed in January, potentially at CES or, more probably, through a dedicated event. This represents a shift from previous practices, where new Galaxy S models were typically unveiled closer to Mobile World Congress (the S20 – shown above – was revealed on February 11). However, MWC has been postponed until late June next year, and conventional timelines are currently disrupted.

As previously discussed, 2020 presented significant challenges for the smartphone market, making an early start to pre-orders a logical step. Furthermore, not everyone received everything they desired during the holidays, so a new phone could be a personal indulgence.

samsung hasn’t announced the galaxy s21 yet, but you can already reserve oneFortunately, a considerable amount of information regarding the unreleased phone is already available. Samsung has historically struggled to maintain secrecy, and key specifications are beginning to surface in the weeks leading up to the anticipated official announcement. Interestingly, camera specifications appear to be largely consistent with the previous model, despite the company’s earlier statements about substantial advancements in imaging technology for 2021. These improvements may be implemented through software updates rather than hardware upgrades.

Information from Winfuture suggests the device will feature the Snapdragon 888 processor in the U.S., and the Exynos 2100 chip in other regions. The S21 is reported to have a 6.2-inch display and a 4000 mAh battery, while the Plus version will offer a 6.7-inch display and a 4,800 mAh battery, according to the leak.

Samsung is expected to officially unveil the new devices on January 14.
