Rivian Enhances In-Vehicle Experience with New Software Update

A recent software release from Rivian introduces several highly anticipated applications to its vehicle platform. Owners of the R1S SUV and R1T pickup truck can now access YouTube and SiriusXM following the update.

It’s important to note that YouTube functionality is limited to use while the vehicle is stationary.

Expanded Entertainment Options

Alongside these additions, Google Cast integration has been implemented. Similar to YouTube, Google Cast is also restricted to parked operation. However, Rivian states this feature will enable casting content from over 3,000 different streaming and other applications to the vehicle’s central display.

Improvements for Charging and On-Road Driving

These new features are expected to significantly improve the user experience during charging periods. Rivian is concurrently focused on optimizing charging infrastructure with the deployment of new “third space”-style charging stations.

The update also delivers enhancements to the driving experience itself. Owners of newer “Gen 2” Rivian vehicles are now able to schedule in-cabin climate control.

Enhanced Driver Assistance Features

Furthermore, the software update includes refinements to the highway assist system. This provides an improved level of driver support during highway travel.

The company is committed to continuous improvement of both the in-vehicle experience and the overall ownership experience.
