Subscribe to Newsletters on Twitter with Revue

Revue Integrates Newsletter Subscriptions Directly into Tweets
Revue authors now possess an additional method for converting their Twitter audience into newsletter subscribers. A subscribe button is now incorporated directly within tweets promoting their newsletters.
When individual newsletter issues are shared, they initially appear as standard article links. However, upon clicking and returning to their Twitter timeline, users will encounter the subscription prompt.
Simplified Subscription Process
Previously, Twitter newsletter subscriptions through Revue – whether via user profiles or tweets – necessitated email verification. Now, users with an email address already associated with their Twitter account can subscribe with a single click, bypassing the confirmation step.
This streamlined functionality is presently accessible on the web platform. Revue has announced via Twitter that rollout to iOS and Android applications will occur shortly.

Revue and Twitter’s Newsletter Strategy
Twitter’s acquisition of Revue in January signaled its intent to establish a presence in the expanding newsletter market. Revue operates on a revenue-sharing model, taking a 5% commission on creator earnings, alongside standard processing fees of 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction.
For example, a $5 newsletter subscription results in a payout of $4.30 to the creator. This contrasts with Substack, which charges a 10% revenue share, in addition to processing costs.
Recent Twitter Acquisitions
Twitter has demonstrated continued activity in the acquisition space. This week, the company announced the purchase of Sphere, an application focused on group conversations.
This latest integration further solidifies Twitter’s commitment to supporting creators and fostering a thriving ecosystem for newsletters.
- Key Feature: One-click subscription for users with linked email addresses.
- Platform Availability: Currently web-based, with mobile app support coming soon.
- Revenue Model: Revue charges 5% + processing fees, compared to Substack’s 10%.
