Replace New Tab Page in Chrome with Speed Dial

Looking for a New Tab Page Alternative? Consider Speed Dial
Are you seeking a replacement for the standard New Tab Page within Google Chrome? The Speed Dial extension warrants careful consideration as a potential solution.
Installation Process
Installing the extension is straightforward. Simply click the “Install” button within the confirmation window to successfully add Speed Dial to your Chrome browser.
It’s important to note that Speed Dial will automatically become your default New Tab Page upon installation.
Following a successful installation, an “Information Tab” for the extension will be displayed.
Let's examine the features and functionality offered by the Speed Dial extension in more detail.
Currently, access to the extension’s options is only available through the main Speed Dial page, not via the “Chrome Extensions Page.”
Speed Dial in Operation
Upon opening a new tab for the first time, Speed Dial presents a user interface featuring options access, a Google Search Box, twelve initial dial-boxes, and a Recently Closed Tabs Bar.
It is recommended to explore the options menu first. Here, you can adjust settings such as the number of rows (up to a maximum of 6) and columns (also up to 6). You can also add a web-based background image, select a background color, and toggle the visibility of the Search Box, Recently Closed Tabs Bar, and Page Titles within the dial-boxes.
To choose a background color, simply click on your preferred shade.
If you prefer a background image, provide its URL and click the “Set Button.”
The following image shows the Speed Dial page after some customization, already exhibiting a pleasing aesthetic.
To add a webpage to Speed Dial, click the “Address Bar Icon” to reveal the drop-down menu. Select “Add Current Page” to save the current webpage. Choosing “Open” will directly navigate to the Speed Dial page.
The dial-boxes offer a “Right Click Menu” with various options.
Additionally, you can rearrange the dial-boxes by simply dragging and dropping them to suit your preferences.
Here’s an example of a fully populated Speed Dial page, demonstrating its visual appeal.
In Conclusion
If you find the default New Tab Page in Google Chrome lacking, this extension is well worth a try. You are likely to be satisfied with the results.
