Removing the Send Feedback Link in Windows 7 Beta
Our focus has consistently been on streamlining your computer experience by eliminating unwanted elements. After the installation of the Windows 7 Beta, a noticeable issue was the presence of the Send Feedback link in the top-right corner of each window. We’ve identified methods to disable this feature.
Before proceeding, consider the implications of disabling this link. Remember that this is a Beta release, and your feedback is crucial for Microsoft to refine and improve the operating system before its final launch. Submitting reports is highly encouraged.
Manual Registry Modification
To begin, access the Registry Editor by typing “regedit.exe” into the Start Menu search field. Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
Within this key, locate the “FeedbackToolEnabled” entry on the right pane. Modify its value to 0 to disable the link.
To re-enable the link, simply revert the value back to 3.
Downloadable Registry File
Alternatively, you can bypass manual registry editing by utilizing a pre-made registry file. Download, extract, and double-click the file to disable the link.

A logoff and subsequent login are required for the changes to take effect.
Accessing the Feedback Tool
Even after disabling the link, the feedback tool remains accessible through several methods. The desktop icon provides a direct launch point, assuming it hasn’t been removed.
Typing “feedback” into the search box will also initiate the tool.
