iPhone Number & Symbol Shortcut: Type Faster

Streamlining Number and Symbol Input on iOS
The standard iOS keyboard initially displays the alphabet. Accessing numbers typically requires tapping the "123" key, followed by a return to letters via the "ABC" key.
However, a more efficient method for typing numbers exists.
A Faster Input Technique
Android users are often familiar with the ability to access numbers and symbols by pressing and holding letters on the keyboard. While iPhones don't natively offer this feature, a comparable shortcut is available.
Instead of a quick tap, press and hold a number button. Then, swipe your finger upwards towards the desired number or symbol.
Releasing your finger will automatically revert the keyboard to the letter view, eliminating the need to press the "ABC" key.

Accessing Symbols with a Similar Method
When the "123" key is selected, the Shift key transforms into a "#+=" key.

This allows you to tap and drag to quickly input a symbol, then seamlessly return to the numerical keypad.
Important Considerations
To access the extended symbols screen, the "123" key must be activated first. This is a prerequisite for using symbols like brackets or the pound sign.
This hold-and-swipe functionality is particularly useful with numbers, but it also extends to many symbols.
While numbers are the most common use case, knowing this technique applies to symbols as well broadens its utility.
