Quick Add Links to Windows Vista Explorer - How-To

Customizing Windows Vista Explorer's Favorite Links
Users of Windows Vista will likely be familiar with the Favorite Links feature, accessible while navigating the file system. A common observation is that the default selection of links provided isn't always optimally configured for individual needs.
The Default Links List
The standard Favorite Links list is something most Vista users will recognize. It often requires personalization to become truly useful.
Adding new links to this bar is a straightforward process. Simply drag and drop the desired folder directly onto the links bar.
Once dragged, the new link will be integrated into the list.
This addition significantly enhances the usability of the Favorite Links feature.
Managing Your Favorite Links
Link management within Windows Vista is remarkably simple. Access your user directory by selecting your icon from the Start Menu.
Within your user directory, you will find a folder named Links. This folder serves as the central repository for all your Favorite Links shortcuts.
Removing a link from the Favorite Links list can be accomplished in two ways. You can right-click the link and select "Remove Link," or alternatively, delete the corresponding shortcut directly from the Links folder.
