proxyclick visitor management system adapts to covid as employee check-in platform

Proxyclick initially launched as a streamlined solution for managing building visitors using an iPad-based sign-in process. However, with the onset of the pandemic, the needs of their clientele shifted, prompting Proxyclick to adapt accordingly. The company recently unveiled Proxyclick Flow, a new system specifically created to facilitate employee check-ins during the COVID-19 era.
According to Proxyclick co-founder and CEO Gregory Blondeau, “When COVID-19 emerged, our customers indicated that their employees were essentially becoming the new visitors. Consequently, the types of questions previously directed towards visitors are now being asked of employees – including standard inquiries, as well as questions regarding their planned arrival times and other relevant details. This led us to broaden our platform’s capabilities.”
This shift in focus means that, while still capable of managing traditional visitor flows, the company is now prioritizing the requirements of organizations aiming to reopen their offices on a limited scale, in accordance with local guidelines. To support this transition, they developed the Proovr smartphone application, enabling employees to check in before arriving at the office, complete a health assessment, view a list of other individuals present, and confirm that the building is operating within capacity limits.
Upon arrival, employees undergo a temperature screening and then utilize a QR code generated by the Proovr app to gain access to the building through Proxyclick’s check-in system, or any existing access control system in place. In addition to the mobile app, the system is designed to integrate with various building management and security platforms, allowing customers to leverage it alongside their current tools.
The company also enhanced its workflow engine, providing businesses with the ability to customize procedures based on their specific entry and exit protocols. The COVID-19 workflow is offered as a pre-configured option, but Blondeau emphasized the system’s flexibility, allowing organizations to define and deploy their own tailored workflows.
“The primary challenge involved technically integrating all the necessary systems and then consolidating workflows onto the employee’s smartphone, empowering each organization to create and present its own unique workflow on the device,” Blondeau stated.
Once inside the building, the system records an individual’s presence, retaining the information for a period of two weeks to support contact tracing efforts in the event of a COVID-19 exposure. Employees check out upon leaving, and the system automatically registers their departure at midnight if they happen to forget.
Founded in 2010, the company has secured $18.5 million in funding, with the most recent round being a $15 million Series B investment in January.
