Porsche Electric Bikes: New Models Unveiled | Porsche

Porsche Enters the Electric Bicycle Market

Porsche is expanding its commitment to electric mobility into the realm of two-wheeled transportation.

The German automotive manufacturer revealed two new electric bicycle models on Thursday, coinciding with the worldwide premiere of the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, the newest addition to its all-electric vehicle lineup.

Inspired by the Taycan

Both electric bikes draw inspiration from the Taycan, Porsche’s pioneering electric vehicle that initiated the company’s broader electrification strategy. Despite sharing a common foundation – featuring full-suspension carbon frames – each bicycle is tailored to a distinct purpose and target consumer.

These bikes represent a collaborative undertaking. Development was carried out in partnership with e-bike specialist Rotwild, incorporating components sourced from leading bicycle parts suppliers like Shimano, Magura, and Crankbrothers. Porsche’s signature design elements and refinement are then applied, resulting in a premium e-bike experience priced between $8,500 and $10,700.

Manufactured in Dieburg, Germany, the Porsche eBikes will be available through Porsche dealerships and select bicycle retailers starting this spring, offered in three different frame sizes.

The Porsche eBike Sport carries a price tag of $10,700, while the Porsche eBike Cross is available for $8,549.

Porsche eBike Sport: For Daily Use

The Porsche eBike Sport is engineered for everyday riding. It features a state-of-the-art Shimano EP8 motor, providing pedal assistance up to 25 km/h (approximately 15 mph).

It also incorporates a Shimano electronic gear shifting system and Magura high-performance brakes seamlessly integrated into the handlebars. The Sport model is further equipped with M99 LED lights from Supernova, integrated into both the handlebar stem and the aerodynamic seat post.

High-quality suspension components, including a Magura upside-down suspension fork and a Fox rear shock absorber, combined with smooth-rolling tires, deliver a sporty and well-balanced ride on paved surfaces or light trails.

Porsche eBike Cross: For Adventurous Terrain

The Porsche eBike Cross is designed for riders who prefer more challenging routes. This model utilizes a newly developed motor from Shimano, alongside Magura-MT Trail high-performance brakes featuring extra-large, heat-resistant brake discs for enhanced stopping power.

A mechanical Shimano XT 12-fold shifting system ensures rapid gear changes, and the seat post is hydraulically adjustable courtesy of Crankbrothers. The handlebars integrate a Shimano color display, providing real-time information on speed, distance, and remaining range.
