Arlo Go 2: Security for Remote Locations
The new Arlo Go 2 LTE/Wi-Fi Security Camera is designed for locations where traditional security systems are impractical. This includes construction sites, remote vacation properties, and other areas with limited access.
Enhanced Security Features
Alongside the camera, Arlo Secure, a subscription service, is being offered. This service provides users with a 30-day rolling archive of cloud recordings.
Furthermore, it incorporates advanced computer vision for intelligent analysis of recorded footage. This includes specific identification of people, animals, vehicles, and packages.
Reliable Connectivity and Durability
These cameras are built to endure harsh conditions, boasting a weather-resistant construction. They also support local storage via microSD cards.
Connectivity is flexible, utilizing available Wi-Fi networks when accessible. Alternatively, they can connect via LTE networks, functioning as a primary connection or a reliable backup.
Versatile and User-Focused Design
According to Tejas Shah, Senior Vice President of Product and Chief Information Officer at Arlo, the Arlo Go 2 expands upon the success of the original Arlo Go.
It provides a highly adaptable security solution for areas where wired connections are not feasible, giving users control over their connection method – Wi-Fi or mobile network.
Additional Capabilities
Integrated GPS positioning allows for easy tracking of multiple camera units across expansive properties.
The cameras also include two-way audio communication, enabling remote interaction with individuals near the camera via a built-in microphone and speaker.
A built-in siren can be activated to deter potential intruders and alert them to the camera’s presence.
Availability and Pricing
The Arlo Go 2 is priced at $250 and is currently available through Verizon.
Additional carrier availability is expected in the coming year.
