Mojiit, a Los Angeles-based firm specializing in avatar creation through its Mojichat service, recently secured a prominent user with the launch of Odell Beckham Jr.’s live stream over the weekend.

During Odell Beckham Jr.’s initial live stream alongside renowned gamer Dr. Disrespect, he utilized Mojichat to generate a dynamic onscreen emote. This animated graphic appeared above the logo of Scuf Gaming, a company specializing in personalized gaming controllers.

The creation of customized, branded emotes represents a growing strategy for businesses aiming to enhance revenue opportunities for live streamers. Mojichat contends that this approach provides a more streamlined experience for gamers, avoiding disruptions to the live broadcast and ensuring viewers don’t miss key moments.

Traditionally, streamers depend on advertising income derived from pre-roll, mid-roll, and post-roll advertisements, as explained by Jeremy Greene, co-founder of Mojichat. Alongside his wife, Janelle, Greene established Mojichat as a leading provider in avatar development. In response to increasing competition, the company has expanded its product line to enable influencers to leverage their digital avatars for income generation.

“Streamers generally dislike running pre-roll ads,” Greene stated. “A key factor in Mojichat’s early success was the convenience it offered – eliminating the need to search for someone to create custom emotes.”

Earlier this year, the company collaborated with DoorDash on a similar initiative for a concert designed to benefit the Boys and Girls Club, as part of a larger celebrity campaign to combat food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Each communication sent would activate an alert, displaying a Mojichat animation over the screen,” Greene described regarding the earlier event.

Greene envisions the service – and the broader goals of the company with his wife Janelle – as representing the next evolution of ad serving technology specifically for the live-streaming sector.

“My objective is to become the go-to avatar solution for all of Unity,” Greene shared. “We intend to make our platform readily available to every gaming or mobile developer for seamless integration… We essentially function as the Google Admob equivalent for live streaming.”

Companies such as Streamlabs are already incorporating Mojichat’s capabilities into their streaming platforms, and the collaboration with Dr. Disrespect and Odell Beckham Jr. highlights the significant demand for these types of solutions.

“The gaming community will ultimately determine the leader in the avatar space,” Greene asserted.

Currently, Mojichat is utilized by 12,000 streamers, and a recently established partnership is projected to increase the volume of advertisements delivered through the service.

“Spending 15 hours a day on a stream is unsustainable for many,” said Greene.

“It’s unfair that streamers often earn less than YouTubers… a streamer can dedicate an entire day to Twitch and be compelled to run these pre-rolls… [whereas] Jake Paul can upload a video to YouTube and generate $300,000… That’s the primary reason I created Mojichat… I aim to simplify the lives of gamers… We are committed to developing tailored software that enhances the gaming experience.”
