mmhmm for Mac: Video Chat Software Now Available

mmhmm, the presentation software created by Phil Libin, the founder of Evernote, is officially launching today after a period in beta testing. The mmhmm application is now readily accessible for Mac users.
This software enables users to enhance their video conferences with features like customizable backgrounds, the ability to incorporate videos and images, and the application of various visual filters, among other engaging effects. Previously, access to the app was limited to those with invitations; however, it is now open to everyone.
In conjunction with the release of the complimentary application, mmhmm is also unveiling Premium Tools.
These tools encompass customizable virtual environments, controls specifically for presenters, and supplementary features such as digital laser pointers. Users can explore the Premium Tools with a complimentary seven-day trial period, after which access will be granted for one hour each day. A subscription to the Premium Tools is priced at $99 annually or $9.99 monthly, while those using the free version will still have the ability to video chat, record sessions, collaborate with others, and present using a standard background and a streamlined presenter view.
Notably, mmhmm is extending complimentary access to its Premium Tools for a duration of one year to students and educators.
The public release also introduces several new functionalities, including Big Hand Mode – a feature allowing for visual reactions during video calls – enhancements to the visual quality of mmhmm’s virtual green screen, and the introduction of mmhmm Creative Services.
Big Hand Mode is currently exclusive to Apple Macs powered by the M1 chip.Creative Services represent an additional income stream for the company, offering customized, high-end services for individuals organizing large-scale events or experiences.
Currently, mmhmm is exclusively available on the MacOS platform, but the company is actively developing a beta version for Windows operating systems.
