Open Chrome with Pinned Tabs - Always Start Your Work

Customizing Chrome to Always Open with Pinned Tabs
Are you a fan of Chrome's pinned tabs functionality and wish to have them automatically load every time you launch the browser? Achieving this requires a simple adjustment using command-line switches and identifying your preferred websites.
Please note that this guide has been revised to align with recent updates to Google Chrome, while maintaining the core functionality of automatically opening with pinned tabs.
Setting Up Your Pinned Tabs
First, select the websites you want to consistently appear as pinned tabs. Pin each tab individually using its context menu.
Accessing Chrome Settings
Next, navigate to the Chrome settings menu. Click the "three dot" menu located in the browser's upper-right corner, then select "Settings." Alternatively, you can directly access the settings by typing "chrome://settings/" into the address bar and pressing Enter.
Configuring Startup Behavior
Scroll down within the Settings menu until you locate the "On Startup" section. Select the "Continue where you left off" option. This ensures Chrome remembers your open tabs, including the pinned ones.
Close the Settings tab after making your selection.
Verifying the Changes
Upon reopening Chrome, the tabs you previously pinned will now automatically open as desired. To modify the pinned tabs in the future, simply unpin any unwanted tabs via their context menu and pin any new ones you wish to include.
This method provides a convenient way to personalize your Chrome experience and quickly access your most frequently used websites.

A Streamlined Approach to Chrome Pinned Tabs
Previously, users typically relied on the “Tab Context Menu” to establish pinned tabs within Chrome, necessitating repetition each time the browser was launched. While manageable occasionally, this process becomes cumbersome with frequent use.

Establishing Persistent Tabs
The initial step involves locating your Google Chrome shortcut(s) and right-clicking to select “Properties”. This action opens a configuration window for the shortcut.

Within the “Properties” window, ensure the “Shortcut” tab is displayed. You are now prepared to adjust the “Target Path” setting.

This modification consists of two key components.
In the “Target:” address field, append the following command to the existing target path, ensuring a single space separates the concluding quotation mark from the “pinned tab count command”. Replace “x” with the desired number of permanently pinned tabs; in our example, we’ve used “5”.

The resulting path should resemble the following structure.

Subsequently, you must include the URL for each website you wish to have permanently pinned, following the “pinned tab count command”. Maintain a single space between each URL and the command, as illustrated below.

After completing these adjustments, click “Apply”, and then “OK” to save the changes.
The Outcome
Upon launching Chrome (and with each subsequent launch), you will find your designated set of permanently pinned tabs readily available.

The “Tab Context Menu” remains accessible, allowing you to temporarily revert the permanent tabs to standard tabs by clicking on “Pin tab Command” to deselect it. Tabs can also be closed as needed.

In Conclusion
For those who frequently utilize pinned tabs in Google Chrome and desire a permanent configuration, this method offers a valuable solution.
