Lucid Gravity SUV EPA Range: 450 Miles Confirmed

Lucid Gravity SUV Achieves 450-Mile EPA Range
The initial Lucid Motors Gravity SUV has recently completed its production rollout, and the EPA has now certified its range at 450 miles.
This figure represents a slight increase compared to the previously quoted 440-mile estimate Lucid provided before the SUV’s official unveiling and the commencement of production. The base model of the Gravity is priced starting at $94,900.
CEO Highlights Efficiency and Performance
Peter Rawlinson, Lucid’s Chief Executive Officer, announced on LinkedIn that the Gravity delivers sports car-level performance alongside exceptional comfort. He further stated it achieves a 450-mile range while utilizing half the earth’s resources compared to certain competing vehicles.
Range Comparison with Competitors
Lucid’s dedication to innovative engineering has been instrumental in achieving substantial range capabilities. This is evident in both the Air sedan and now the Gravity SUV.
The highest-performing Air model can travel up to approximately 512 miles on a single charge, as per EPA estimates.
Tesla’s longest-range electric vehicle is the Model S sedan, which offers a maximum range of around 402 miles. The Model X SUV, a direct competitor to the Gravity, is limited to a maximum of 329 miles.
Challenges and Opportunities for Lucid
Despite these technological advancements, Lucid has faced difficulties in attracting a wider consumer audience.
Initial projections anticipated the production and sale of approximately 90,000 Airs by this time. Current estimates suggest the company will conclude 2024 with roughly one-tenth of that number.
The launch of the Gravity presents Lucid with an opportunity to alter its course, particularly within the North American market. Consumer preference in North America has shifted towards SUVs, while demand for sedans has declined.
