XM Radio on Windows Media Center - Windows 7

Listening to XM Radio Online with Windows 7 and Media Center
Accessing XM Satellite Radio doesn't require dedicated hardware; the service is also accessible via the internet. This guide details the process of configuring XM Radio within Windows 7 utilizing Windows Media Center (WMC).
Setting Up XM Radio in Windows Media Center
Begin by navigating to the main menu within WMC. Select "Extras," and then choose "Extras Gallery." From there, click on the "XM Radio" option to initiate the setup process.
Clicking the "free trial" button will direct you to your web browser, allowing you to register for the service. A valid username and email address are required for signup. You will then need to confirm your registration by responding to the email sent to you.
Notably, a credit card is not needed to begin the trial period, providing a risk-free opportunity to evaluate the service.
Completing Registration and Accessing XM
Once your registration with XM is complete, return to WMC to sign in.
A security warning may appear during the sign-in process. Select the "Mark Don’t ask me this again" checkbox and then click "Send" to proceed.
You are now able to enjoy your preferred XM radio programming online.
Navigating and Enjoying XM Radio
Using a keyboard for channel and song selection appears to be more efficient than utilizing a mouse within the WMC interface.
XM Radio provides a diverse range of content, including sports coverage, talk shows, a broad selection of music genres, and exclusive programming not available through other sources.
Trial Availability and Geographic Restrictions
Integrating XM Radio into your multimedia setup offers another convenient method for accessing its content. A seven-day free trial was available through WMC at the time of writing. However, extended trial periods may be found elsewhere.
Consider signing up for a free trial directly on the XM website before configuring the service within WMC. Currently, XM Radio is officially available only in the United States and Canada. We welcome feedback from international readers regarding availability in other regions.
