LG Mounts Planters on a Lamp for Apartment Growing

LG Previews Innovative Plant-Integrated Lighting Solutions for CES 2024
Despite holding one of the earliest major press conferences at CES, LG Electronics is proactively unveiling several new products prior to the event. This pre-show announcement includes a diverse range of innovations, with a particularly noteworthy addition being their new plant lamps.
Introducing LG’s Novel Approach to Indoor Gardening
Specific details regarding pricing and release dates remain limited until LG’s presentation on January 6th. However, the company has disclosed two distinct product variations. These include a contemporary, floor-standing lamp and a unique indoor gardening system designed as a nature-themed side table.
The core concept behind these products is to seamlessly blend plant care into everyday living room furnishings.
Lamp Design: Automated Plant Care with ThinQ Integration
The lamp incorporates an LED grow light alongside a 1.5-gallon water reservoir. This reservoir facilitates automated watering cycles.
These cycles are fully controllable through LG’s ThinQ application, ensuring plants remain adequately hydrated even during extended periods of absence – up to a week, according to LG.
Indoor Gardening Appliance: A Multifunctional System
Information concerning the “appliance” configuration is currently less extensive. LG emphasizes that this compact, multi-purpose model aims to deliver a simple and enjoyable home gardening experience.
This demonstrates LG’s ongoing dedication to offering diverse and appealing options to cater to a wide spectrum of consumer preferences and lifestyles.
Expanding LG’s Plant Technology Portfolio
These new products will complement LG’s existing plant-focused technologies, such as the Tiiun grow system which was initially launched in 2022.
- Key Feature: Automated watering via the ThinQ app.
- Design Options: Floor lamp and side table configurations.
- Water Capacity: 1.5-gallon reservoir for extended hydration.
