LEGO Super Mario Expansion Sets: Customization, Power-Ups & New Characters

The collaboration between Lego and Nintendo proved highly successful with the launch of the interactive Lego Super Mario Starter Course earlier this year. Now, they are building upon that success with a range of new sets created to enhance the original experience. Among these is a new “Master Your Adventure Maker Set,” which introduces greater personalization by allowing adjustments to Lego Mario’s reactions through the inclusion of three unique bricks, and provides a fresh method for altering the rules of each level. Lego and Nintendo are also introducing additional themed Expansion sets, new abilities for Mario, and a second collection of collectible characters to integrate into level designs.
The Master Your Adventure Maker Set comprises a total of 366 pieces and will be available for purchase at a price of $59.99. The Expansion sets feature a Chain Chomp jungle-themed playset priced at $19.99, a Piranha Plant puzzle challenge set costing $29.99, and a new Poison-themed environment for Mario to navigate, complete with a Wiggler, for $39.99. Two new power-ups are also being released for Lego Mario: the Penguin suit and the Tanooki suit, each retailing for $9.99.Individual Series 2 Character Packs are priced at $4.99 each. These packs are sold in opaque packaging, concealing the character inside until opened, introducing an element of surprise to the collecting experience. The Series 2 characters include Huckit Crab, Spiny Cheep Cheep, Ninji, Foo, Parachute Goomba, Fly Guy, Poison Mushroom, Para-Beetle, Thwimp, and Bone Goomba.
All of these items will become available for sale starting January 1, through both Lego’s official channels and its retail partners. This launch date follows the peak holiday shopping season, which may be somewhat unexpected for a product line anticipated to be popular as gifts; however, Nintendo continues to offer the original starter course and other associated kits.Related Posts
