Kidde Smoke Detectors with Ring Integration - Enhanced Home Safety

Ring and Kidde Collaborate on Smart Smoke Detectors
At CES 2025, Amazon and Kidde revealed a collaborative effort, integrating Ring’s technology into Kidde’s established line of smoke alarms. This partnership will result in several models of combined smoke and carbon dioxide detectors.
Pricing and Availability
The new hybrid detectors will be available at various price points, ranging from $55 to $75. Both the detectors and an associated monitoring service are scheduled for release on April 2nd.
The Importance of Smart Smoke Detectors
A smart smoke detector represents a crucial component of a modern smart home. Having a reliable smoke detection system provides significant reassurance, particularly when away from home.
Integration of Technologies
This collaboration leverages Kidde’s extensive history in smoke alarm technology with the widespread adoption of the Ring application. Users will benefit from receiving immediate push notifications upon detection of smoke or carbon monoxide.
Connectivity and Battery Management
The detectors connect directly to existing home Wi-Fi networks, eliminating the need for a separate Ring alarm system or hub. Furthermore, the devices proactively notify users seven days before the battery is depleted, preventing the disruptive chirping sound associated with low batteries.
Ring’s New Monitoring Service
Ring is also introducing a Smoke and CO2 Monitoring service. For a monthly fee of $5, users gain access to 24/7 professional monitoring. Agents can directly contact emergency services if a problem is detected.
Optional Service Details
It’s important to note that this monitoring service is entirely optional and does not necessitate a subscription to Ring Home.
Ring’s integration with Kidde aims to enhance home safety through proactive alerts and professional monitoring options.Related Posts
