Kia EV6 Pricing Starts at $42,115

Kia EV6 Pricing and Availability
Kia has announced that the EV6, built on the same platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, will have a starting price of $42,115, which includes the $1,215 destination charge. This price point secures the entry-level “Light” rear-wheel drive (RWD) configuration.
The base model features a 167-horsepower motor coupled with a 58-kWh battery pack. This combination delivers an EPA-estimated range of 232 miles. Furthermore, this specific model qualifies for the full $7,500 federal tax credit, potentially lowering the final cost to $34,615.
Price Comparison with Competitors
The EV6’s starting price is $1,190 higher than that of the Ioniq 5. Despite sharing a common platform and comparable performance characteristics, the Ioniq 5 distinguishes itself with a more angular and unconventional design. Conversely, the EV6 presents a more traditionally styled, rounded aesthetic.
Several other electric vehicles compete in this segment. The Ford Mustang Mach-E begins at $44,995, while the Tesla Model 3 carries a $46,490 MSRP. The Volkswagen ID.4 is available starting at $39,995, all figures excluding potential incentives.
Higher-Tier EV6 Models
Moving up the EV6 lineup results in a significant price increase. The “Wind” RWD model, equipped with a larger 77.4-kWh battery and a 225-horsepower motor, starts at $48,215. This configuration provides an EPA-estimated range of 310 miles.
The GT-Line RWD variant offers enhanced features and luxury, while retaining the same drivetrain. It is priced at $52,415. Both the Wind and GT-Line models offer the option of all-wheel-drive (AWD), starting at $52,115 and $57,115 respectively.
Switching to AWD reduces the EPA range to 274 miles for both the Wind and GT-Line models. These models also remain eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit.
Performance Expectations
Recent road tests of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 revealed a vehicle that successfully blends retro styling with advanced technology and a pleasurable driving experience. Expectations are high that the Kia EV6 will achieve a similar level of quality and performance.
The initial deliveries of the Kia EV6 to dealerships are anticipated in the coming weeks.
