Departure of Ulili Onovakpuri from Kapor Capital
Ulili Onovakpuri, the managing partner of Kapor Capital, announced her departure from the firm yesterday.
Onovakpuri initially joined Kapor Capital as a principal over ten years ago. Through dedicated service, she advanced within the organization to ultimately assume the role of managing partner.
She, alongside Brian Dixon, succeeded the firm’s founders, Mitch Kapor and Freada Kapor Klein, in leadership positions.
Accomplishments During Tenure
In a recent post on LinkedIn, Onovakpuri reflected on her time at Kapor Capital. She highlighted the successful co-raising of a $126 million fund.
During her tenure, the firm provided backing to over 70 different companies. Onovakpuri expressed sincere sentiments about her experiences, stating, “I’ll truly miss it.”
Future Plans and Venture Capital
Onovakpuri clarified that this transition does not signify a complete exit from the investment landscape. She described it as a “purposeful pause” from active investing.
Currently, she has no immediate plans defined for her next endeavor. However, she indicated her continued involvement within the venture capital world is anticipated.
With a touch of humor, Onovakpuri noted a welcome change in her communication flow. She stated, “[M]y inbox has definitely seen the last of ‘just wanted to follow up on the deck I sent you,’” adding, “At least for now.”
