Kandji Secures $60 Million in Series B Funding

The necessity of remote device onboarding and management solutions became strikingly apparent during the pandemic. Consequently, Kandji, a company specializing in automated Apple device management for IT departments, has announced a significant $60 million Series B investment.

Investment Details

Felicis Ventures spearheaded the funding round, with contributions from SVB Capital, Greycroft, Okta Ventures, and The Spruce House Partnership. This latest investment follows a $21 million Series A round secured just seven months prior, bringing the company’s total funding to $88.5 million across three investment phases.

Rapid Growth and Pandemic Influence

According to CEO Adam Pettit, Kandji has experienced substantial growth since the previous funding round last October. The company has consistently surpassed its projected growth targets.

A key driver of this accelerated expansion has been the widespread shift towards remote work arrangements prompted by the pandemic. This has created a heightened demand for effective remote management tools.

Expanding Customer Base and Revenue

Kandji currently serves clients across more than 40 different industries, and is now attracting international customers as well. The company’s solution provides a streamlined approach to supporting distributed workforces.

While specific revenue figures were not disclosed, Pettit confirmed that revenue has tripled since the Series A announcement. This growth is attributed, in part, to the acquisition of larger enterprise clients.

Team Expansion and Diversity Initiatives

Alongside revenue growth, Kandji has significantly expanded its team, increasing headcount from 40 to 100 employees since October. The startup is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive company culture.

This commitment begins with prioritizing diversity throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a broad range of qualified candidates are considered.

Remote Work and Talent Acquisition

To achieve its diversity goals, Kandji has embraced remote work, expanding its talent pool beyond traditional tech hubs like San Diego and San Francisco. This national expansion has unlocked access to a wider range of skilled technology professionals.

“We realized that in order to hold true to [our commitment], it was going to be really hard to do that just sticking to the core market,” Pettit explained.

Future of Office Operations

Pettit is currently strategizing about the future of Kandji’s office spaces, particularly in light of employees now residing outside major tech centers. The company anticipates a hybrid model incorporating remote work.

A central challenge will be ensuring that remote employees remain fully engaged and integrated within the team, despite not being physically present in the office.
