Expanding Beyond Amazon
Founded in 2015, Jungle Scout initially focused on search optimization tools for Amazon sellers. While Amazon remains its core business, covering Amazon.com and nine other regional marketplaces, the company is strategically expanding its services.

“We are initiating support for Walmart.com, which will be available shortly,” stated CEO Greg Mercer. “Our vision extends beyond that. Summit Partners is the lead investor in this funding round, with CEO Greg Mercer also contributing. While Jungle Scout had previously received backing from Summit Partners in 2017, the exact amount was undisclosed.
This $110 million represents the first time Jungle Scout has publicly revealed its total funding to date, although the company has not disclosed its current valuation.
A Different Approach to Roll-Up Companies

Jungle Scout empowers Amazon retailers utilizing the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) platform to manage services like inventory, shipping, and marketing, while maintaining their independence.

However, the story doesn’t end there. Mercer revealed that Jungle Scout also provides its technology as a white-label service to many of the major roll-up players. This means that even merchants not directly working with Jungle Scout may indirectly benefit from its technology.

The potential for developing more tools to support the Amazon economy is substantial. Currently, there are approximately 5 million third-party sellers on Amazon, a number that is growing rapidly.

Folley predicts that Amazon advertising could reach $50 billion by 2023, potentially surpassing Facebook in size.
