Recently, while enjoying an episode of Law & Order : Special Victims Unit on my iPhone, I reflected on the remarkable advancements in technology. The ability to stream high-definition video on a portable device is a privilege that wasn't conceivable just a few decades ago.
The progress of video technology has been truly significant. Rapid improvements in internet speeds, coupled with the widespread adoption of broadband connections and the emergence of mobile devices like the iPhone, have driven substantial changes.

This infographic, originally published by Real.com, provides a concise history of video’s development over the last 56 years. It traces the evolution back to 1956, highlighting the Ampex Quadruplex system.
