Remove Microphone Button from iPhone Keyboard - Easy Guide

Removing the Dictation Button from Your iOS Keyboard
The location of the dictation button on the iOS keyboard presents a usability challenge for many users. Specifically on the iPhone, accidental activation of dictation is a common occurrence when attempting to use the spacebar.
If voice dictation isn't a feature you utilize, the microphone button can be easily removed by completely disabling the dictation functionality.
Why Remove the Dictation Button?
While voice dictation can be a useful tool, particularly on the iPad due to its larger screen size, its placement on the iPhone is often problematic. Consideration can be given to using a third-party keyboard. However, for those who don’t require dictation, deactivating it offers the most straightforward solution.
Importantly, disabling dictation will not impact your ability to use Siri.
How to Disable Dictation
To begin the process, launch the Settings application on your iOS device and then select General.
Within the General settings, scroll down the list of options until you locate and tap on Keyboard.
On the Keyboards screen, navigate to the bottom of the settings list. There, you will find the "Enable Dictation" setting.
Toggle this setting to the off position to disable dictation.
Verifying the Change
After disabling dictation, close the Settings app and test your keyboard. The microphone button should now be absent.
You will also notice that the spacebar has returned to its original, wider size, improving usability.
This simple adjustment effectively resolves the issue of accidental dictation activation. It’s a readily available option for users who do not utilize this feature.
